Annie Fforde artist/printmaker

Annie Fforde is an artist/printmaker with over 20 years printmaking experience. Recently returned from living and working in French Catalonia, Céret where she was running a printmaking centre as president. Leading workshops for the ex-libris group in Céret in “La Grange” and a local college, Jean Amade, the printmaking members were encouraged to have a high standard of work suitable for showing in International and National exhibitions, exchanging work with other printmaking groups. Printmaking workshops include monotype, lino, woodcut, dry point, carborundum, collagraph and viscosity prints. An experimental approach to printmaking methods is encouraged combining different techniques of print.

Past Work with ex-libris in Céret

Annie Fforde worked for several years organising and leading printmaking workshops for members and a local college in Céret. Most techniques of printmaking were covered including intaglio dry point and etching, lino and woodcut, monotype, carborundum and collagraph.

As the standard of printmaking of ex-libris improved, members were encouraged to show work alongside other printmaking groups. Part of Annie’s responsibility as president was to raise the profile of the centre (Centre du Gravure de Céret) organising exhibitions locally, Nationally and Internationally with L’empreinte from Lyon, Estampadura, Toulouse, Stroud Printmakers, Glocs, Zocola from Quebec, Trace-écart from Switzerland, Chant de l’encre from Clermont Ferrand and in local galleries and the workshop “La Grange”
